“We love the results of our recent kitchen and dining remodel. Specifically, we are pleased with the beauty, utility and eye appeal of the hardwood floors and kitchen cabinets that Carolina Kitchens and Floors installed for us this past winter/spring. As we made plans to remodel a portion of our Appalachian style log cabin’s dining space and our kitchen, we thankfully were referred to Carolina Kitchens and Floors for the help that we needed. Because the existing flooring in the kitchen and dining areas was ceramic tile and the remaining floor was stained pine we needed a plan of how to best blend, and yet maintain, the distinction of the two spaces. The recommendation offered by CKAF—red oak placed on an angle with a matching border worked perfectly—not only does the newly remodeled space maintain the distinction we sought, but it also draws one’s eyes into the spaces. A good recommendation is only part of the service—the installation and finishing craftsmanship were top quality and the consistent follow-thru kept us on schedule and within our targeted budget.
Steve helped layout the arrangement of the kitchen appliances and cabinets. He provided guidance regarding wood finishes. cabinet door design choices and counter tops that would complement our home’s character and cabin ambiance. Best use of the existing kitchen space was also taken into consideration. Installation of the cabinets could have been a challenge because of the nature of fitting them to a log cabin with all its quirks. When the recommended cabinet installer came with a laser level and all the tools we knew we had made the right decision; we were pleased with the confidence and ability brought to the project by both the cabinet installer and the countertop supplier and installer. While pamphlets and floor models always look perfect, it is the expertise of the professional installers and craftspeople that help make projects successful. We certainly found that in Steve and Donovan and the folks and businesses they recommended.
